Bookkeeping is Customer Service at The Payroll Department
We’ve had a big change at The Payroll Department this past year and people are still a little surprised by it. To us, it just makes sense. Customer service becomes a new customer service at The Payroll Department. We see the addition of bookkeeping services as a truly natural extension of the services we offer, for a couple of reasons.
The connection between payroll services and bookkeeping services
Everything begins and ends with customer service here at The Payroll Department. We take great pride on being not just responsive to customer questions and inquiries, but to be proactive, too. It’s not enough to us to have answers for any questions that come up. We try to take care of any potential issues by keeping our customers informed of any changes or potential payroll problems they might encounter, before they happen. That is because we know the load that is on the shoulders of small business owners, who are our primary clients.
We stay apprised of changing payroll and labor laws, so you don’t have to worry about it. We ensure your confidence in accuracy and compliance with those laws by contracting with an outside accountant to audit your account, so you know – for sure – that we are living up to our end of the bargain regarding your payroll services. Our year-end statements to both employees and government agencies are accurate and filed on time … we guarantee it!
It was at year end when we would supply statements and information to our clients that we were hearing how nice it was to have this portion of their financial information taken care of – and wouldn’t it be wonderful if their bookkeeping was handled as simply and easily.
That really confused us because we KNEW that some of the clients saying that had bookkeepers handling their finances. What??? We (kindly) expected that the bookkeeping records for some businesses would consist of a box full of receipts and check stubs, because that’s how many small business owners operate. Lack of time, skills, and desire to deal with it are the top reasons those business owners give for the state of their books.
Clients knew that our own Grace Walker, was certified in Quick Books bookkeeping because she integrated our payroll services into their systems. We began to get requests for help. Clients telling us they were really in a spot and couldn’t she help them get their books straightened out for their tax reporting?
It was our desire to provide exemplary customer service that we agreed to help and so began a new customer service for The Payroll Department: Bookkeeping.
Financial management for a business is a core element in small business success and bookkeeping plays an integral part in that. We know that a business owner can’t really make good, informed decisions without having the financial information provided by up-to-date books and reports. For accurate information to be available, the following bookkeeping services are necessary:
- Accounts payable
- Accounts receivable and billing
- Banking and credit card reconciliation
- Sales tax reporting
- Cash flow management and budgeting
- Financial reporting aligned with standard accounting practices
Yes, knowing exactly where your business stands financially is the basis for just about every decision you, as a small business owner, make. In addition, the confidence that this aspect of your business is being performed accurately and professionally, just like we handle your payroll, means you can set that worry aside and work on building your business.
In the end, our bookkeeping clients discovered what a positive impact accurate and timely bookkeeping has made on their businesses – and we love that we are able to provide another service that really is another way we can provide excellence in customer service.
Timely, accurate bookkeeping and payroll services. Your employees are happy, the governmental agencies are happy, and your small business can thrive.
